Ben Huggins, CPA

Director of Lender Services

Ben is a CPA with a Master of Accounting and has more than twenty years of financial services industry and audit management experience. Prior to joining Durkin Group, Ben worked in public accounting for PricewaterhouseCoopers. Ben is co-head of the specialty finance vertical at Durkin Group focusing on portfolio assets. In addition, Ben has led multi-team engagements in due diligence examinations, quality-of-earnings reviews, bankruptcy restructurings, treasury management reviews, collateral monitoring engagements, and multi-national fraud and other investigations.

Ben has consistently and effectively managed large teams of internal and external staff on survey exams, pre-funding update exams, collateral monitoring exams and specialty/defined scope exams related to transactions ranging from $1.5 million to $2.0 billion. Ben has experience in various industries including: specialty finance, insurance, healthcare, distressed debt, media and entertainment, communications, hotels and hospitality, real estate, medical supplies, medical monitoring, agriculture and agricultural cooperatives, energy, automotive, steel fabrication, construction, timber rights, transportation and heavy equipment, home improvement, furniture, manufacturing, distribution, firearms, tug and barge operations, mobile homes, and aerospace.

Prior to heading up specialty finance, Ben specialized in large multi-national corporations with significant experience in foreign markets. Transactional work performed in many regions including North America, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. Ben has led diligence teams focusing on troubled accounts in foreign countries including the review of key issues of foreign regulations, reporting, and tax strategies.
